Sioux City Schools bringing internet to students to learn at home

It's estimated about 1,500 households in Sioux City will need internet service for the new school year. Now, the district is working to get them the devices and "hot spots" so students can learn virtually under the district's hybrid learning plan. The school district has bought MiFi Hotspots to distribute. "T-Mobile is the company that won the mobile quote for our mobile devices and they are able to deliver them in the first week of September," said John Pritchard of the SCCSD.

Free Meal Program for Children- Open Sites Summer Food Service Program

The Sioux City Community School District is once again participating in the Summer Food Service Program, beginning June 3, 2020, through Aug 14, 2020 (closed Jul 3).  Meals are available Monday - Friday for all children ages 1-18 years without charge. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
